This was the comment of PSupt Joel Mendoza on the arrest of 5 of the 6 youngsters who robbed 2 elementary schools and 3 stores here.

In his report to Tarlac Police Provincial Director PSSupt Ritchie Posadas, Mendoza identified those apprehended as Benedictus Pabayaan, 15, Johnny Garce, 16, both of Brgy Pob. Norte, Jeromeo Cruz, 15, Brgy Salumague, Joselito Sares, 18, Brgy. Samput, Jarvey Fernadez, 16, Brgy. Estacion (not their real names) and Raymark Dupitas, 19, Brgy. Patalan

Dupitas remains at large while their leader identified as Angelito Yamar, former kagawad of Barangay Pob. Norte, from whose house he looted items were recovered, was also arrested.

Mendoza revealed the robbery group were apprehended in the follow-up investigation on the burglary of the Tablang Elementary School and the Tiansing Sari-sari store last October 9. The store is located just across the school in Barangay Tablang.

The suspects were positively identified by witnesses from the rogue gallery of the police station.
Upon investigation, Pabayaan, Garce, Cruz and Sares admitted to robbing the Tablang ES and the sari-sari store and led police investigators to where they kept their loot.
They also admitted robbing the Patalan Elementary School, a store in Barangay Canan and another store in Barangay Salumague.

Their loot of computer laptop, electric drill, Sony speakers, laminating machine, among others, including grocery items from the stores they robbed, were recovered at the house of Yamar.
The laptop was taken from the Principal’s office of Patalan Elementary School last September 29.
As of this writing, the group were charged for 4 counts of robbery before the Provincial Prosecutors office.

“With the recovery of some of the items looted, we have solved 5 robbery cases which were all committed by these bunch of kids. They are too young to be jailed yet they are too old to be let loose because they may continue their nefarious activities”, said Mendoza.
