By: Central Luzon News Center | Nelson Bolos Thus, said the people who knew Ramil Mauricio, 52, who was killed in a shoot-out with policemen from the Tarlac Police Provincial Office (TPPO) Intelligence Branch at Barangay Poblacion South, Ramos town, last Friday night. In an interview, Intel Branch head PSupt Luis Ventura Jr, said, “our pre-operational plan was (only) to arrest him in a buy-bust operation. But he was armed and he drew his gun. We have no choice but to defend ourselves”. Mauricio, who hails from Pura town, is a former fireman but was dismissed from the service. The victim, is also unidentified around 70-80 years-old was stabbed 5 times in the chest and neck. Police suspect that robbers may have attempted to enter the premises of the said Motor Shop. In his report, PSupt Luis Ventura Jr said the 2 carnappers “forcibly took a Honda Wave motorcycle” (EC 1141) at Filomena Subdivision, Barangay San Rafael and fled towards Victoria town. “When we received the motornapping incident, I immediately dispatched my personnel who are conducting monitoring activities near the place to pursue the suspects. They were cornered at Barangay Bulo (Victoria). But instead of surrendering, they fired at my men”, Ventura said.
